Diabetes studies using herbal products
By Veena Deo
The Diabetes studies and human trial were conducted on a group of people using herbal extracts and a control group was used that took pharmaceutical products. Read more.
This is a study that compares the performance of a herbal supplement product that is primarily made up of Gymnema, Bitter Melon, Salacia, Fenugreek, Jambolan and Cinnamon and a conventional drug used for Diabetes management.* The following glucose trials were conducted for a total of 6 months using the herbal product and a control group taking a conventional drug. Both groups are made to follow the same dietery guidelines.
As the Table-3 (Moderately Diabetic) below shows, when a convention drug is used the fasting Blood Glucose levels came down by 26% in 3 months and by 38% in 6 months in the control group of 14 people. - For the group of 17 that were given the herbal product the blood Glucose levels came down by 20% in 3 months and by 24% in 6 months approximately.*
As the Table-4 (Highly Diabetic) below shows when the convention drug is used the fasting Blood Glucose levels came down by 20% in 3 months and by 40% in 6 months in the control group of 14 people. - For the group of 17 that were given the herbal product, the blood Glucose levels came down by 16% in 3 months and by 31% in 6 months approximately.*
In conclusion the Diabetes studies show that the herbal product is more successful in managing blood sugar in people that are moderately Diabetic than ones that are highly Diabetic. The product works naturally helping blood sugar levels,* but does not match conventional drugs. The advantage is that Gluco X as a product does not have any side effects,* Again, all these trials are done on small controlled groups and may not be representative of all groups or people.*
