Home remedies for hair loss dandruff that are useful

Topical herbal remedies stimulate the hair follicles and are also a safe way to cope up with different types of hair loss and to maintain healthy hair. The growth of hair occurs in repeated cycles. Each hair cycle comprises of three stages. the Active growth phase, the Catagen phase and the Telogen phase.
Causes of Hair loss include, Menopause (in women), anemia, excessive intake of coffee, junk food, smoking, excessive intake of oily, spicy foods, fungal infections of scalp, hormonal imbalances, stress, anxiety, inadequate nutrition or imbalanced diet, dandruff etc.
Home remedies for Hair loss and Dandruff -
For hair loss-
Apply fresh ‘Aloe-Vera’ Juice on scalp. This makes the hair significantly healthier.
Apply a mixture of Rosemary and sage oils on the roots of the hair every day.
Take fruits of Indian Gooseberry with Neem leaves, extract the juices from them and add Coconut oil to it. The ratio of the juices and Coconut oil should be 1:4. Boil this till the water gets evaporated and cool it down. Apply this oil to the scalp once a day. It will help hair growth.
Add the decoction of Shoe flower to coconut oil. Then boil it, till the water gets evaporated. Cool it down. Apply this daily, for prevention of hair loss.
Take Chebulic myrobalan, Belleric myrobalan and Emblica myrobalan in equal parts. Pulverize and then add Acacia Concinna to this powder. Soak this mixture in water for about 8 hours. Then boil it, filter it, cool it and use this for hair wash.
Soak leaves of Shoe Flower in Coconut oil overnight, boil it, filter it and cool it. After filtering and cooling the oil add 2 to 3 pieces of Camphor to it. Daily application of this oil helps to prevent hair loss and makes the hair healthier.
Application of a mixture of Neem oil and Camphor is effective to remove dandruff. After application, wash the hair.
Indian Gooseberry should be soaked in one quarter gallon of water overnight. Boil it until half of the water remains in the vessel. Cool it and apply this to the scalp. After one hour this paste should be washed with plain water. This remedy should be repeated every week for 2 to 3 months.
Antidandruff paste: - Make a paste of green Almonds and apply it on the scalp. Then wash it with plain water.
Yogurt: - Application of yogurt to the hair is also a good remedy for dandruff.
For Gray hair-
Scalp of the person should be energetically massaged with Coconut oil daily for 10 to 15 minutes. This mechanical action activates the hair follicles by ensuring blood circulation, and warms up the scalp.
The fruit pulp of Indian Gooseberry and Mango should be mixed together and used externally on the scalp.
Make and use your own natural shampoo -
Fenugreek - 250grams / 9 Ounces
Shikakai / Acacia Concinna – 1 Kilo / 2 lbs
Lemon peels – Handful
Neem Leaves – 70 grams / 3 Ounces
Pulverize all these ingredients, take some of this powder as needed, soak in a ½ cup of water 2 hours before using it and use this as a shampoo.
General Tips for Hair loss -
- Do not brush hair when it is wet.
- Protect the hair from harsh UV rays by covering it when in sun.
- Do not wash the hair frequently as it may remove its natural oils.
- As one crosses age 40, apply Coconut oil once a week.
- Massage the scalp at least once a week.
- Wash the hair once a week.
- Drink plenty of protein based drinks.
- Restrict eating the oily, spicy, junk food. Avoid yogurt, Chinese food and fermented foods.
In my opinion if one follows the above mentioned home remedies for hair loss dandruff and use certain herbal supplements (as all the mentioned products may not be available in raw form), one should end up maintaining healthy hair.
